Christian Education for Young Children
Sundays September through May
Sunday School 9:00 - 9:45 A.M.
Preschool
Our youngest children (3 and 4 year olds) follow the "Rock Solid" curriculum as they begin to learn about Jesus and his love for them. Simple songs, games and stories bring the Bible lessons to life and build a foundation for lessons learned as they grow in their faith.
Kindergarten - Fifth Grade
Using the rotational approach, the "PowerXpress" curriclum guides elementary age children through a lesson or theme that is presented by four diffe
rent participatory learning styles. Lessons are taught in one room using science applications and in anoher through storytelling. A third group of chidren learn through games and art is the medium for the fourth group. Grouped by ages and reading ability, the children move through each classroom over a four week period to experience different versions of the lesson theme. Music is included with all children gathering in the sanctuary for singing at the opening of the hour.
Bible Presentation
On th
e second Sunday of September, when Sunday School classes resume, children in their 2nd grade year in school receive a Children's Bible engraved with their name as a gift from the church. Teachers encourage the children to bring their Bibles every week and incorporate Bible based activities in the lessons to help develop an understandng of how to use and learn from their Bibles.
